The panel has to be fed with 415V/50Hz current from the MCC panel. There is a need to perform some automated tasks in order to improve the safety and repeatability, meaning better and more stable quality of production..
To obtain this, we will install systems who centralise the information, thus rendering supervision and knowledge more accurate, true and easily available. We collect maximum information by connecting every available instrument in the installation to the control system.
All the proximity, level, pressure and flow switches, as well as, the feedback signals from MCC are connected to the digital input cards of the PLC.. Concerning the analogical measurements such as temperature, flow and pressure or level transmitters; they are connected to the analogue input cards of the PLC.
All pneumatic valves are connected to digital output cards of the PLC.
Remote I/O Stations
The I/Os are distributed in the shop floor based on their locations. These stations will have its own input & outputs modules to which the instruments will be connected. Low density modules are used so as to facilitate easy replacement of modules in case of failures and is also easily expandable. The Remote I/O stations are connected to the main PLC over Profibus with diagnostic features. The valves are driven by the outputs in the remote I/O station and the feedbacks are wired back to the inputs in the remote I/O station. The solenoid for the valve is part of the valve assembly alongwith microswitches used for feedback.
